Create UGC Ads and Personas

UGC ads are short, creator-style product videos. Publishers and brand teams often start here when they need on-camera talent plus a clear product story.

There are two entry points:

1. Team UGC Ad Playground — cast an Approved character (or describe one), attach product shots, generate into the video editor
2. Brand Personas — create a brand-owned identity, then Create UGC video from that persona's image (progress stays on Personas)

Before you start

• Correct team and credits
• At least one product photo (the first shot is Primary)
• For the playground: an existing brand, or name + website to Save brand
• For Personas: you are already inside the brand that should own the talent
• Optional: team Compliance rules reviewed for claims and disclaimers

Path A — Team UGC Ad Playground (primary)

1. On the team home, choose UGC Ad.
2. The page title is UGC Ad Playground. Work top to bottom through the stepped sections.

1. Brand

• Pick an Existing brand, or switch to New brand
• For a new brand: enter Brand name and Website, then Save brand
• Status line after save: Brand saved — pick a character below.

2. Creator

Toggle:

Description for approved mode: Pick a pre-approved likeness for generation.

3. Product shots

• Add at least one shot (upload, library, or URL). Cap is shown as n/max
• The first image shows the Primary badge
• Description: Up to N reference shots of the product — the first is the primary.

4. Product details (optional but recommended)

• Analyze — fills fields from the primary shot when possible (Analyzing… while it runs)
• Product name
• Key features (character limit enforced)
• Call to action
• Additional direction (optional)

5. Creative

Set Ad template, Shooting style, and Tone. Common templates include 3 Reasons Why, Problem & Solution, Before & After, TikTok Made Me Buy It, Product Addiction, Testimonial, and Day in the Life. Playground shooting styles include Narrative, Talking Head, Green Screen, Mic Trend, Split React, and Car FaceTime.

6. Output

Choose Video model, aspect ratio, duration (including Auto when the model supports it), and optional reference media.

Generate

Choose Generate UGC Ad. If the button is disabled, the form usually needs a brand, a creator (approved or description), and a product shot.

On success, the video editor opens at /home/brands/{brandId}/video-ai/{videoId} — the same editor as brand Video Ads. Review and deploy there — Create video ads.

Path B — Brand Personas (publisher / brand-talent path)

1. Open the brand → launchpad Personas (or sidebar Personas).
2. Page framing: synthetic identities that direct creative and appear as on-camera talent.
3. Create talent with New Persona, Quick generate, or Generate with AI (name, label, description, status, demographics, occupation).
4. On a persona image, choose Create UGC video. The dialog title is Generate UGC Product Ad.
5. Provide a required Product Image. Optional Scene Image unlocks shooting style Custom Scene (Use Scene Image).
6. Fill the same style of product and creative fields as the playground, then Generate UGC Ad.

This path does not jump into the video editor, and the result does not appear in brand Video Ads. Watch progress under View UGC videos / the UGC Videos dialog on Personas. If a persona is deleted, orphaned UGC may appear under Orphaned UGC videos.

Personas vs approved characters

Launchpad copy still says personas “appear as UGC talent.” The playground’s default casting surface today is Approved characters / Describe character.
