Claude Opus 5 (claude-opus-5) is Anthropic's latest flagship for deep reasoning, agentic workflows, and long-form polish.
- Available wherever you pick a text/reasoning model (static ads, carousels, rich media, video playgrounds, and more).
- Default reasoning model for freeform / Hyperframes playgrounds.
- Pricing: $5 / 1M input tokens and $25 / 1M output tokens (same as Opus 4.8).
Claude Sonnet 5
Claude Sonnet 5 (claude-sonnet-5) is the balanced mid-tier option for everyday reasoning and coding.
- Strong mix of speed and quality at a lower cost than Opus.
- Pricing: introductory $2 / 1M input and $10 / 1M output through August 31, 2026; standard $3 / $15 from September 1, 2026.
